The Family Matters Bookclub

An open book group, sharing ideas about family, matrimonial and relationship issues.

Welcome to the Shedden Family Law Book Club. This forum is open to all. Our aim is to review books and publications on topics relating to family, matrimonial and relationship issues. Each month we will be reviewing a new book and we would love you to get involved and give us your views as well.

Our aim is that this becomes an interesting and entertaining forum that will also be a useful source of ideas for those looking for further information on matters that may be affecting them.

We will have a copy of each book that we review available for clients of Shedden Family Law to borrow. Feel free to contact us if you would like to read any of the books we’ve featured.

Helping Children Survive Divorce

by Dr. Archibald D. Hart

Book posted on July 9th, 2013 | 0 Comments - 0 Ratings

The book aims to help you build a healther post divorce life for your children.  It offers specific ways to help children cope with the psychological and social difficulties surrounding their parents' divorce.

Written by a professor of psychology, this is very much a technical book, and not as accessible as some others that we've reviewed on this site.  Also, coming as a bit of surprise, the book is written very much from a Christian perspective.  Whilst helpful for some, others may find the overtly religious angle a barrier.

Overall, the book definitely offers some helpful insights and thoughts, but is not necessarily going to appeal to every reader.
